New Ways to Share

In addition to Facebook, you can now share the Bible with anyone in the world via Twitter, Email, or SMS. To use your new sharing options, just tap a verse and tap the sharing icon.
The first time you share on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll enter your account credentials. After that, it’s a two-tap action to share on both social networks, and you won’t have to enter your credentials again.
Oh, and don’t worry about hitting character limits on Twitter–the app will truncate things for you and provide a link to the full verse, which will be nicely highlighted on Bible.is for easy viewing.

New Donate Feature

Many users have asked us how they can help us spread the word though a donation, so we’ve added a simple Donate feature. Just tap “More” then “Donate” if you’d like to help support the work of Faith Comes By Hearing.

Full Spanish Localization

A fully localized Spanish version of the application is bundled in this release. To access the full Spanish application interface, change your device language to Español, then open Bible.is. All interface icons, messages, and even support will then be in Spanish.

We encourage you to upgrade iOS

We have noticed that some users with early versions of iOS are experiencing difficulty with the latest versions of Bible.is. Though Bible.is will install on devices with older versions of iOS, we recommend that users connect their device to their computer, sync to iTunes, and upgrade to the latest version your device will support. Along with plenty of performance improvements, Bible.is for Android just got an incredible new feature: 100% Spanish localization! (iPhone user? We have good news for you, too.)

The entire Bible app UI, including support, is available in Spanish!

The localization of the Bible.is app into Spanish means the entire experience – from download to daily use – is available entirely in Spanish, with cultural relevance considered in the design of the app’s content and features. We even made sure the support process was available in Spanish, too.

Over 90 languages

Android users can enjoy Scripture in a rich, dramatized audio format in more than 90 languages, with more being added regularly.  In addition to Spanish, some of the larger languages include Arabic, Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin), French, Indonesian and Japanese.  However, there are also languages like Koonzime, spoken in regions of Cameroon by roughly 30,000 people, and Cacua, spoken in parts of Colombia by fewer than 500.

Reaching the world

Spanish localization is just another step forward in Faith Comes By Hearing‘s efforts to accomplish this goal and make the world’s largest language catalog of digitized Scripture, in both audio and text, freely accessible to everyone in the world.

And yes, we’re working hard on localization of the free Bible app into other major languages as well.

• Offline Downloads. Experience your favorite Bible version’s text super fast! Just tap the Menu button, select the new Download option, and choose which Bible version’s text you’d like to download for offline reading.
• New Media Player. The new media player brings Bible audio front and center in a beautiful interface so you can read and listen together more easily. It looks great and works beautifully!
